Taxes
Have you ever heard of a society being taxed into prosperity? As of 2022, the GDP to federal government spending ratio is 25%. At best taxes are a necessary evil. At worst taxes are a method of control that enable an increasingly bloated & corrupt government. Money is spent most efficiently, and most honestly, when kept by the people who earn it.
The link between authority & taxes are intrinsically tied. It is difficult to exercise any financial liberties with another's hands controlling your purse strings. Repeatedly the government has used tax money to blow up sand farmers on the other side of the world, fund proxy wars, start welfare programs that never eliminate poverty, but keep people dependent upon such doles, and give subsidies to large corporations (The Chips Act of 2022 is an example of this. $280- billion, of money we don't have, was given to big tech to incentivize them to develop computer chips within US borders.) Is there any greater indication of government favoritism than the phrase "too big to fail."
The Biden administration has caused undue hardship for millions by printing non-stop for multi-trillion-dollar spending bills. The CPI rose 10 to 20% for many common items, and energy prices rose further. Democrats will never work to cut taxes nor cull the money pit known as the federal government. Every government program has its cost in money & liberty.
"We contend that for a nation to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle." - Winston Churchill
